The title says it all, Kohana 2.2 is released. Let me quote our benevolent dictator for life Shadowhand, with his release statement
Ok, time for special release thanks:
* alex[sancho] for being tremendously helpful with our i18n efforts
* gregmac for continuing to host SVN and Trac, even when we push over 80GB a month (!!!)
* Geert and PugFish for pushing some very real performance enhancements
* dlib for continuing to provide learn.kohanaphp.com
* nodren, neovive, and Ozoned for their coordination of documentation for 2.2My sincerest thanks to the entire community for using and talking about Kohana, finding bugs, writing docs, and asking questions! Without the daily commitment of the development team and support of the users, Kohana would not be The Swift PHP Framework.
My thanks of course also go to Shadowhand himself for his contributions and excellent code. Let me also thank you, the readers of this blog, for all the comments, feedback and moaning
Kohana is growing, the community flourishing and this release is a big improvement for everyone. Download it, use it and spread the word. Thanks everyone!!

Hi, thanks a lot for this release. Btw, I noticed that modules/forge isn’t included so I need to take it from svn. Is it intentional?
Should I report it as bug?

Forge is on purpose not included, I’m not involved in Forge so I don’t know about the exact rationale.

Nevermind, I am just a little confused at the beginning when I want to use auth_demo controller from Auth module since it depends on Forge module.

[...] It was over a year ago that I wrote the article that compares CodeIgniter and Kohana. Since then both CodeIgniter and Kohana have seen major progress with the release of CodeIgniter 1.7.0 and Kohana 2.3. [...]
